Imagine a virtual gallery space...

In the center of the room is a large tabletop, and on it is a large diorama, a model of six square city blocks of Bronzeville on the South Side of Chicago. And the cityscape is exactly as it was around 1940. Actual locations and landmarks. And fully animated with the sights, sounds, people and activity.

On the walls of the virtual gallery are framed scenes. These scenes are the portals to the storyworld of Time Machine. VR technology allows you to “step into” the time and place as it was then, experiencing the people, places, and events that actually show the dramas and vignettes of the lives of those who lived there at that time, many of whom were recent arrivals during the Great Migration - the most underreported and underappreciated saga of the 20th century. It was a time that changed the nation - socially, culturally, and politically.
